The Alabama Special Needs Population Program is contracted through the State of Alabama for the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP). The regional program serves Calhoun, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, St. Clair and Talladega counties.
Through the CSEPP Emergency Alert Radio Distribution Program Phase I, Metro Services distributed 108,000 emergency alert radios in Alabama's six-county CSEPP region. Metro also managed the program's public information campaign to raise awareness and encourage the public's participation in the program. The Cleburne County Commission served as the sponsoring agency for the program. As the CSEPP Training and Distribution Center for Residential Protective Equipment, Metro Services worked with Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency to provide shelter-in-place kits, portable room air cleaners and personal SCape Hoods to residents in the appropriate CSEPP zones. As part of Alabama Emergency Management Agency's transition of CSEPP resources, Metro Services designed and implemented a collection and recycling program for tone alert radios in the appropriate zones in Alabama's six-county CSEPP region. |
