About Us
Metro Services LLC is a small, woman-owned business specializing in emergency preparedness for the special needs community, emergency management and special needs planning.
Based in Anniston, Alabama, the first task undertaken by Metro Services was developing a program to address concerns for people with special needs who lived in Alabama’s Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) footprint. Metro Services, along with other agencies, began the first effort to collect information about people with special needs in Alabama’s CSEPP area in 1999. The initiative has evolved into a groundbreaking registry linked to emergency planning software as well as an intensive public education program targeting people with special needs and caregivers. Metro Services manages the Alabama Special Needs Population Program on behalf of the Alabama Emergency Management Agency.
Metro Services has a two-fold approach to improving mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery efforts at the local, state and federal level. Metro Services works to promote awareness and integrate special needs considerations into emergency management activities. Metro Services also educates the public to realistic expectations of their local, state and federal government and offers practical training for personal emergency preparedness.
